Reliable Racing officially sponsors Prospect events

href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_rk5rFbRzeeA/SsqgLarNy3I/AAAAAAAAANA/icYZAbtxNig/s1600-h/26931.jpg">

Reliable Racing has generously donated a first place prize of Swenor Rollerskis to the winner of the "Sufferin' Sundays" climb up the Prospect Mtn highway. The race format is as follows:

On three consecutive Sundays (October 25th, November 1st, and November 8th) There will be a climb up Prospect Mtn. starting at 9:00am sharp. All classes, all ages and genders will start at once. Races will end at the Summit parking lot and times will be recorded and posted on this blog. You can participate in any or all of these events for no cost and use them as a training ski, time trial or race. The prize will be awarded to the skier who participates in at least two of the climbs and has the fastest total combined time for the two assents.

You will need to make these assents with a daypack carrying a pair of shoes for the hike down. No skiers will ski down. Something dry to slip on is also recommended.

Race Participates will pay no charge to organizers and therefore partake in this event at their own risk. Skiers must be aware of the hazards of rollerskiing. Helmets must be worn on course at the request of organizers.

Directions will be posted as the 1st event day grows near.

Thanks to Doug Diehl who worked with Inside Edge in Glens Falls to make this deal.,

Look to Inside Edge for ski equipment as winter approaches.

UUSRS - training day #18 - Saratoga

This Wednesday plan on a classic ski workout up at SPAC. The weather looks like it will be hit and miss but as of right now I think we will make it. If it does rain, bring your running shoes and we'll trail run in the park. Plan on being at the Gideon Putnam parking lot at 5:45.

See you then.

If you haven't sent along a H.U.R.T profile pic and are racing for us get that to me asap. This week should see the close of UUSRS posts and the start of official HURT training!

UUSRS - "THREE SUFFERIN' SUNDAYS"

Weather is getting cooler, darkness comes early and leaves are loosing their green....Summer is on its way out and soon the Wednesday training series known as the Unaffiliated, Unsanctioned Summer Rollerski Series will be coming to a close. We would like to cap off the Summer Rollerski Season with a race series designed to be an early season test of fitness and ski strength for competitors from around the state.

We call it "THREE SUFFERIN" SUNDAYS.

The race series will be three consecutive Sundays at the end of October and into November. Check out the details on the flyer below. This race series is sponsored by the INSIDE EDGE BIKE AND SKI SHOP in Glens Falls. This race series will be heavily promoted over the next few weeks but take the time to add at least two of the weeks to your fall calendar. The combination of your two fastest times could win you a pair of Swenor Rollerskis donated by INSIDE EDGE. (A division of Reliable Racing Supply)

This race series will culminate with the highly anticipated SUFFERFEST race hosted by Peru Nordic.

After the close of the UUSRS season on the last day of "THREE SUFFERIN" SUNDAYS" There will remain the opportunity to train on Wednesday nights with regional nordic skiers but at that point official you will be involved in an official practice of the newest NYYSRA nordic team....... H.U.R.T (Hudson United Racing Team)...... non-HURT skiers will be welcome to ski but there will occasional competitive stare-downs and hissing from HURT members :)

NEWS REPORT: H.U.R.T Press Conference

The fledgling group on nordic ski racers known as the HUDSON UNITED RACING TEAM or H.U.R.T held an official preseason fake press conference this afternoon. Team officials and organizers were available with members of the press to update on development status and respond to recent news from other nordic teams in the NYSSRA club competition. We were there to listen in and will transcribe some of the highlights for you...

Q: Mr. Chairman, It is well known that HURT had plans to attract the speedy Mike Wynn to the squad from the Peru Nordic Masters Death Brigade. It appears (according to PERU reports) that your proposal was denied...how does this impact the team?

A: Well....We felt that with Mike we had a real opportunity to defeat all the powerhouse Masters Clubs and the youngsters from NYSEF. He brings massive amounts of points and any team would be lucky to have him. Quite frankly we are not surprised he decided to remain with Peru, it was going to be a tough sell to get him to transfer. He has been with them for many years and more than likely has been totally brainwashed. Most likely his mind has been replaced with the spirit of a zombie or a satanic monster. Wynn is going to do what Wynn is going to do...he's always been like that. We also suspect that the 3 sacrificial goats and 12 chicken carcasses that Peru demanded from us when we bought out Kvam's contract were used to put a hex on Wynn....were looking into it....

Despite his loss we feel that we have a real solid chance to defeat Peru in the points standings. NYSEF may be out of reach but our core group of skiers will bring in massive amounts of points in competition.

Q: Would you still consider adding Wynn later on if things changed, or have you cut off talks?

A: Of course. Wynn...in fact all the Wynn family.... would be an asset to any team. Young Carly may be going on to big and better things but right now our scouts are very interested in the development of Tyra. We would love to get her on our farm team and into our development ranks. She's got a big future ahead of her. We think we might have a real shot in the future especially cause she hasn't been warped by the evil minds that control the Peru machine.

Q: What does the back and forth over Wynn do to the relationship between HURT and PERU?

A: Look...Outside of competition we have the utmost regard for the consistency and strength Peru brings year after year. Individually...each racer is a top notch fellow too. However, as soon as they gather as a collective, sporting the blood-drenched spandex race suits, with metal on their minds and blood in their eyes its on like donkey-kong! It will be our one and only goal to crush them in every way possible allowed by FIS regulations. Let it be known...they are our #1 rivals and will be treated as such!

Q: Has your team been finalized?

A: No, we have some of our members fully in place and committed but are still courting others. We hope to attract some known heavy hitters in the Queensbury area and will be announcing our 2009-2010 race team when we launch our website in a few weeks. Stay tuned. As usual, anyone interested in joining should contact us.
